Join Crytek as a Site Reliability Engineer (Hunt: Showdown – Frankfurt, Germany)

Crytek is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to support Hunt: Showdown’s NetOps department in our new state-of-the-art office in Frankfurt, Germany.

As part of our network operations team, you will serve as a liaison between different development teams and NetOps. Working closely with production and system architecture, you’ll ensure that projects are well-planned, documented, and implemented. This role includes both operational and project-based responsibilities.

This position is based on-site at our Frankfurt headquarters. You’ll work alongside a world-class team of industry-leading developers and benefit from our attractive relocation package.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain hosted/cloud data center environments on a daily basis.
  • Install, configure, and patch system and game software.
  • Monitor, manage, and report system status to maintain 99.9% uptime for applications and systems.
  • Collaborate with R&D to install, configure, and operate new or updated features as needed.
  • Ensure all systems and game environments are accurately documented and up to date.
  • Assist in process and policy development and documentation.
  • Operate and maintain a dynamic, highly available production environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Network Operations Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in container technologies.
  • Experience with continuous integration, delivery, and automated deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of network security and infrastructure.
  • Experience working with both bare metal and cloud servers.
  • Proficient with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Skilled in observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Mimir, and Grafana.
  • Experience managing high-traffic servers — scaling, profiling, debugging, and stress testing.
  • Solid understanding of the full web stack (REST APIs, HTTP, CDN, caching, headers, asset loading, cookies, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience setting up monitoring for online applications (Go, Java, C++) and creating proactive metrics and alerts.
  • Strong scripting skills in Shell and Python.
  • Excellent network troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
