We’re building a generational company that will become the operating system for tradespeople in Europe, starting with roofers in Germany.

Roofers don’t need more software — they need results. From sales to measurements to hiring, Handly is a business-in-a-box that handles it all so roofers can focus on their craft.

We test everything in our own roofing company before launching. If it doesn’t work in the real world, it doesn’t ship.

We are a tight-knit, 10-person team based in Berlin, backed by top-tier investors: 20VC, Stride, and Base10 — with €3.75M raised.

Your Role: Product Engineer #2

As Handly’s second Product Engineer, you’ll help build the foundation of our platform from scratch and shape our engineering and product culture. You’ll turn messy, real-world workflows into intuitive, AI-integrated software that gets results.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and iterate on full-stack features using our stack:
  • Frontend: React, Tailwind, Vite, Shadcn/ui, React Query
  • Backend: Node.js, Express, Drizzle, Postgres
  • Infra: AWS
  • Mobile: Flutter
• Integrate AI to solve real business problems (not as a gimmick)
• Work closely with early customers to understand their pain points
• Translate field insights into designed and shipped product features
• Own the entire lifecycle — from design to deployment and iteration
• Define what it means to be a “Product Engineer” at Handly
• Help migrate our legacy API to TypeScript and handle other scrappy tasks

What You Bring

• 3+ years of full-stack engineering experience (flexible for exceptional talent)
• Proven track record shipping real products end-to-end
• Experience with AI-integrated features
• Startups or tech company background preferred
• A product mindset — you care more about solving problems than closing tickets
• Proficiency with AI tools to enhance your workflow
• Strong taste in product and design
• Bias for speed and ownership over instruction
• Bonus: Built and shipped your own fully functional (AI-integrated) side project — send us your best one!
