Head of Engineering (m/w/d) in ClimateTech

We just raised a strong Seed Round with top-tier investors, and now we’re looking for a passionate and hands-on Head of Engineering to join our early-stage climate-tech team.

This is more than just a leadership role — it’s your chance to build meaningful products, shape engineering culture, and directly influence how we scale. You’ll write code every week, help define our tech stack, and turn scrappy MVPs into resilient systems.

Your First-Year Mission

1. Build and Lead Our Engineering Org: Hire and mentor our founding team. Set the bar for code quality and speed by leading through example.
2. Scale Our Core Infrastructure: Turn no-code/low-code prototypes into reliable, scalable systems that support rapid growth.
3. Make Engineering a Multiplier: Collaborate across Product, Ops, and Sales to make Engineering a driver of growth — not a bottleneck. Embrace AI-native workflows for faster development.

What You’ll Do

• Write production code, ship features, fix bugs, and lead key architecture decisions
• Own and evolve our technical roadmap and system architecture
• Transition us from MVP hacks to production-grade, scalable systems
• Hire, coach, and scale a high-performing engineering team
• Use modern AI dev tools (e.g., Cursor, Lovable) to move fast and smart
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Ops to build tools that solve real-world problems
• Define how we test, deploy, monitor, and document — clean slate, no legacy

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or founding role
• Strong full-stack capabilities — frontend frameworks, backend APIs, and data modeling
• You still love writing code and solving real problems
• Experience building in fast-paced environments (startups, side projects, rapid prototyping)
• Excited about AI-native tools and automation — and know when to use low-code/no-code
• Clear communicator and effective cross-functional collaborator
• You’ve either built a team before or are eager to do so now
