Your Role: Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs and distributed systems to support our fulfillment chain. Collaborating with cross-functional teams,
you will help build reliable and scalable services that power Emma’s global operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and scale backend services in Go to support our global fulfillment and logistics operations
  • Develop robust, secure, and high-performance REST APIs integrating internal systems and third-party services
  • Work with event-driven architectures using AWS SNS, SQS for distributed system communication
  • Take end-to-end ownership of backend components: development, testing, deployment, and monitoring
  • Maintain high code quality with automated testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery pipelines
  • Actively share knowledge, mentor teammates, and promote collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to recruiting and help scale our high-performing tech team

Who We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience building scalable backend systems in cloud environments, ideally with Go (Golang)
  • Skilled in event-driven architecture and AWS tools (SNS, SQS); familiar with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and systems integration patterns
  • Deep knowledge of CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, design patterns
  • Proven experience in backend development in fast-paced E-commerce or logistics settings
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and best practices for clean, maintainable code
  • Self-organized, proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership
  • Team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
